WISDOM FOR TODAY

Proverbs 3

Proverbs 3:1-8 My son, do not forget my teaching. Let your heart keep my words. For they will add to you many days and years of life and peace. Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Tie them around your neck. Write them upon your heart. So you will find favour and good understanding in the eyes of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding. Agree with Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and turn away from what is sinful. It will be healing to your body and medicine to your bones.

  1. HOW TO BE WISE BEYOND YOUR YEARS

1 Corinthians 1:25 God’s plan looked foolish to men, but it is wiser than the best plans of men. God’s plan which may look weak is stronger than the strongest plans of men.

Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom

Proverbs 3:13-18 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.

  1. THERE’S WISDOM IN GENEROSITY

Proverbs 3:9-10,27-28. Honour the Lord with your riches, and with the first of all you grow. Then your storehouses will be filled with many good things and your barrels will flow over with new wine. Do not keep good from those who should have it, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbour, “Go, and return tomorrow, and I will give it,” when you have it with you.

James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.Romans 15:5–6
