Making Happy | Gratitude: It’s a Game Changer

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

It is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.  Brother David Steindt-Rast

TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S JOY I MUST:

  1. REJOICE ALWAYS

1 Thessalonians 5:16

Gratitude Journal.

70 Things you are thankful for/10 per day:

  1. PRAY CONTINUALLY

1 Thessalonians 5:17.

Pray for others:

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.  Hebrews 13:3

  1. GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Plan a gratitude visit (over the phone) – set up an appointment with someone who had positively impacted you. Don’t tell them the reason for the visit. Prepare a written testimonial and read it to them when you arrive (on the phone). This process is powerful, in the writing, but also in the delivery. It has proven to be one of the most impacting and memorable events for both individuals involved.
