GOD’S JOY FOR MY JOURNEY – THE SECRET PATH OF GOD’S JOY

Psalm 91

  1. GOD PROVIDES A SECRET PLACE OF REFUGE AND REPRIEVE

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortressmy God, in whom I trust.”  Psalm 91:1-2

Shelter (Hebrew – ‘sēt-er’): secret, shelter, refuge – hiding place.

  1. GOD PROVIDES A WAY FORWARD IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. (A THIRD OPTION)

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.  Psalm 91:14

Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.                                                                                                                                                                                    I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.  Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.  This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.  Psalm 34:4-7

All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.  Luke 4:28-30

  1. WHEN I AM OVERWHELMED I NEED TO REMEMBER THE PROMISES OF GOD

He will call on me, and I will answer himI will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.  Psalm 91:15

Remind yourself of what God has promised:

  • Cover Me – provide rest for you
  • Shield Me – provide protection for you
  • Deliver Me – provide peace for you
  • Rescue Me – provide angelic deliverance for you
  • Supply Me – provide His presence for you
  • Bless Me – provided extended life for you

Ephesians 3:20: NOW TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK… BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH!
